Beltran Gets Orthotics

Carlos Beltran: (Knee) Headed for DL -  6/22/2009 1:23:48 PM

Update:
Updating an earlier post, Beltran (bone bruise in right knee) is not in Monday's starting lineup as he has been placed on the disabled list.

Recommendation:
David Lennon of Newsday twittered that Beltran is headed to the DL as an MRI taken Monday showed that the bone bruise had worsened. He will be fitted for orthotics and receive an injection of PRP (platelets) in his knee. The hope is that Beltran will only miss two weeks, but that might be wishful thinking given how well the Mets' doctors diagnose and treat ailments.
