Posterior Tibial Tendonitis - Likely to Get Worse

Posterior tibial tendonitis is a progressive condition of the foot and ankle that if left untreated will likely get worse.  Without arch support flat foot will occur.  PTTD is generally divided into three stages:

• Stage I -   Posterior tibial tendonitis without a tendon tear.
• Stage II -  Partial or complete tear of the posterior tibial tendon.
• Stage III - Partial or complete tear of the posterior tibial tendon, along with rigid flat feet.
