Heritage Medical in Atlantic City

 

Barry Townsend was giving lessons in bio-mechanics at the NJAAOP in Atlantic City.  Pictured above watching Barry's presentation is John Cotrell, CP of Eschen P&O along with Glenn Garrisson, CPO, Director of O&P at Hospital For Special Surgery (HSS).  Barry's argument about why the Biostride prosthetic feet are the best in the industry is more than convincing.

Barry Townsend was one of several O&P celebrities to spend time at the Heritage Medical booth.  Rick Riley (CEO of Townsend Design), Mike Magill (National Manager of Sales & Marketing for Evolution Liners), Elizabeth Mansfield (owner of Outsource Marketing) and Jeff Chang (Owner of Jefferson Prosthetics) were all spotted on the red carpet!

BioQuest Emulates Heritage Medical

It's said that imitation is the sincerest form of flattery.  BioQuest Prosthetics recently updated their website and created a Facebook page.  Their new home page has two links to Heritage Medical's You Tube Channel, and their Facebook page features Heritage Medical video!  It looks like our friends in Bakersfield are beginning to understand what we are up to here on the East Coast.

BioQuest is the manufacturer of the BioStride and PerfectStride lines of prosthetic feet.

Like "peanut butter & jelly" or "orthotics & prosthetics", some things just go together.  Townsend Design, an industry leader in the manufacturing of custom and off-the-shelf knee braces, recently announced their partial ownership and full management of BioQuest Prosthetics, the manufacturer of the PerfectStride and BioStride series of prosthetic feet.

Townsend CEO, Rick Riley, will be taking the helm for BioQuest.  He is excited about the two companies coming together and the new products in the bags of his sales force.  Riley recently said, "...the mechanical platform for the new feet have been developed and tested over the past 18 months...the BioStride series will be stronger, lighter, and more responsive".  Three new feet comprising the BioStride series will be released to market this week.

The O&P industry should stop and take notice of the BioQuest and Townsend merger.  With new products and a new business model they will take market share from their competitors.
