Thumb Spica

Thumb spicas are designed to provide protection and stability to the wrist and thumb.  The Titan Thumb Spica from Hely & Weber (product# 455) is universal in size - however an extra large size is available.  This thumb brace is secured using a lacing system.  There are moldable stays (supports) that help the brace conform to each person's unique anatomy.  This brace is also designed not to interfere with the palmal crease - that means patients can grab things and bend their hands.

New PDAC Letter for Hely & Weber: L-3923 Modabber Thumb

Hely & Weber's Modabber thumb orthosis has been approved for l3923.  In New York you are looking at a reimbursement of $72.07.  Contact us for a copy of the PDAC Letter.

L-3923 reads, "hand finger orthosis, without joints, may include soft interface, straps, prefabricated, includes fitting and adjustment".

New PDAC Letter for Hely & Weber: L-3923 Santa Barbara Thumb

Hely & Weber's Santa Barbara Thumb brace has been approved for L-3923!  In New York the reimbursement is $72.07.

L3923 reads, "hand finger orthosis, without joints, may include soft interface, straps, prefabricated, includes fitting and adjustment".

Heritage Medical will match or beat the price of any competitive thumb splint.

Effective today July 1st L-3923 (hand finger orthosis, without joints, prefabricated) will not be covered by Medicare.  Thumb splints will have to be constructed with rigid plastic or metal components within the brace.  Any thumb splint without metal or plastic components will be considered an elastic splint and be coded A-4466.  L-3923 is currently applied to several of Heritage Medical's thumb splints.  Applications for an L-3842 code have already been submitted by Hely & Weber for the Santa Barbara Thumb, Modabber Thumb, and Neoprene Thumb orthosis.  This coding change, like all of the recent coding changes, will make it more difficult for the O&P community to treat patients.
